July 29th and 30th have been a challenge for Fair. For the first time she was hardly able to keep any food, drink, or medicine down. While dealing with this she has also experienced a lot of discomfort from trapped gas and constipation.
I have some very good news as well. She has been on prescription pain killer from the time she started this journey and one of the main side effects of the medicine is constipation. The good news is, she has been able to stay off of prescription pain medication for the past 2 days. I believe that, along with some newly prescribed constipation medicine, enabled her to no longer feel bloated since about 2:00 AM this morning.
More good news is that she has been able to keep her food, drink, and Medicine down for the past 12 hours. Now we are working on getting her closer to eating regular size meals again.
Fair started to lose some of her hair yesterday. We knew this day would come and her spirits are amazing. Besides wearing beautiful hats that her sister hand-knit and others have given her, she plans to get a wig to wear on a regular basis.
We have already been looking online and plan to continue to do so and to visit some wig shops in the area this weekend.
We purchased a dual reclining loveseat 2 weeks ago so Fair would have something very comfortable to sit in while she enjoys our company in the living room. This weekend we also plan to look for and purchase a new bed for her that is more comfortable to sit up on than what she has now.
We are very thankful for all of you who have already donated money to help our family and Fair during this time for purchases like this. Fair’s aunt has started a Go Fund Me Page for Fair. You will find the link at the bottom of this post.
Before Fair was diagnosed with cancer, she was saving up money along with her mom and I to purchase her first vehicle. Around $5,000 of the money that is raised will be going towards Fair’s first car. We cannot wait to bless her with this gift that will be largely funded by all those who love her so much and want to support her.
Fair is in a fight, but we are confident that through your prayers, she is going to win the war.
Thank you all!
