With the money Fair saved and as a result of many generous donations, Fair was able to buy her first car! She is so happy. It is a 2012 Chrysler 200 with around 101,000 miles on it. It is silver with a black interior. It looks really nice and is in great condition.
She is enjoying being chauffeured around in it for now and is looking forward to soon being able to drive it herself.
Fair starts stage 3 of her chemo treatment today. I am writing this from her hospital room. She is doing well and is in good spirits. We just shared a pizza together her mom picked up while she was with her – a Meat Lover’s Supreme of course!
After writing that last sentence I had to take a 3 hour break from writing this blog post. Fair started feeling chest pain that reached a level 8 and lasted for several hours. An x-ray and EKG were performed to rule out anything serious. In the end the doctor’s conclusions were that it was either trapped gas or the tumors in her lungs that were causing her pain. She still has some pain in that area but it is more manageable.
I guess that is the way it goes when you are fighting cancer. One minute you are smiling and then out of nowhere pain hits that lasts for hours despite medication to remedy it. It is hard to watch her go through intense pain at times. But her spirit remains strong through it all.
Fair is a fighter. At the same time, she is not loosing her sweetness. She is not only going to win this fight but she is also going to keep the good qualities that she had before this ordeal. I also see her growing and learning so much from this experience.
Thank you all for the encouragement and support! Fair definitely does not feel alone in this fight.
Fair is sleeping now. Get some good rest my precious daughter.
